The airport is located 3km (2 miles) south of Newark
and 26km (16 miles) southwest of New York City.
Transfer Between Terminals
The AirTrain Newark runs between the terminals
and car parks. Taxis are available too.
Driving Directions
The airport is located off Hwy-78 (from Manhattan via
Holland Tunnel) and Hwy-95 in New Jersey.
Car Parking
There are more than 17,000 public parking spaces at
the airport. Three short-term car parks (Lots A, B and
C) are situated in front of each terminal. Daily parking
is available in car parks P1, P3 and the multi-storey
P4 (P2 and part of P3 are reserved for hire cars), which
are connected to the terminals by AirTrain Newark.
Free shuttle buses transport passengers to/from the
economy parking lot, P6. Valet parking is available.
Car Hire
Take the free AirTrain Newark to car park P3
station for Car Rentals; alight at station P2 for
BD and DR and to meet courtesy vehicles
for the off-site company ET Courtesy telephones for
car hire reservations are situated in the baggage reclaim
areas of all terminals.
Public Transport
Rail: Newark Liberty International
Airport station is connected to the terminals via the
free AirTrain Newark service. From here,
Amtrak (tel: 1 800 872 7245; website:
www.amtrak.com) and New Jersey Transit
(tel: 1 800 772 2222; website:
www.njtransit.com) trains run to Penn Station for
connections to PATH subway trains, which serve
downtown Manhattan and 33rd Street with other stops
on the way.
Road: Bus: Newark Airport Liberty
Express (tel: (908) 354 3330; website:
www.coachusa.com/olympia) offers bus services to
Port Authority Bus Terminal, Grand Central Station and
Bryant Park. Other services run to destinations in Queens,
Brooklyn, the Bronx, Staten Island and the suburbs.
A number of companies also offer shuttle services to
the city. Ground transportation information is available
in Arrivals areas of all terminals.
Taxi: Taxis are readily available; passengers should
use authorised taxis only and establish a fare before
departure.
Information and Help Desks
Traveler's Aid services are available at the
ground transportation counters in each terminal. The
main Traveler's Aid office can be reached on
(tel: (973) 623 5052). Multi-lingual customer service
representatives wear red jackets and are available throughout
the terminals to provide information and assistance.
Airport Facilities
Money and communications: ATMs and
bureaux de change are located in all terminals. A
bank is situated in Terminal C. Wireless Internet
access is available throughout the airport.
Eating and drinking: Bars and restaurants
are available in all terminals.
Shopping: Duty-free, newsagents and
gift shops are available in all terminals.
Luggage: Trolleys are available in
the baggage reclaim areas of all terminals. A lost property

Other facilities: There is a medical
centre, baby-change facilities and a chapel.
Conference and Business Facilities
A comprehensive range of business services, including
fax, computer, photocopying and courier facilities as
well as Wireless Internet access, are available at all
terminals. Conference facilities are only offered via
airline and club lounges, although the on-site Newark
Liberty International Airport Marriott (tel: (973)
623 0006) offers business facilities, including a fully
equipped business centre, PCs and printers, secretarial
services and 19 meeting rooms.
Facilities for Disabled Travellers
There are TDD telephones, ramps, lifts and adapted toilets
throughout the terminals. Electric carts are available

airport within the city limits of both
Newark and
Elizabeth,
New Jersey,
United States. It is about 15 miles
(24 km) southwest of
Midtown Manhattan ( New
York City). The airport is operated
by the
Port Authority of New York and New Jersey,
which also manages the two other major airports
in the
New York/New Jersey metropolitan area,
John F. Kennedy International Airport
(JFK) and
LaGuardia Airport (LGA), in addition
to three smaller airports,
Stewart International Airport,
Teterboro Airport and the
Downtown Manhattan Heliport. Newark
is the tenth busiest airport in the United
States and the nation's fifth busiest international
air gateway; JFK ranks first.[2]

hub for
Continental Airlines, which is the airport's
largest tenant (operating all of Terminal
C and part of Terminal A). Primarily due
to this large hub operation,
